  4. Follow the instructions to install the configuration assistant tool (CAT) on the device.

Option 3: Check the technical parameters

  • Encryption type: AES
  • Authentication method: PEAP

  • Radius server: radius.ugent.be

Still having trouble logging in?

Please contact ICT HelpMe and provide the information below so that we can check the network logs:

  • MAC address of your device's Wi-Fi
  • Is this the only location where you cannot connect to eduroam?
  • What is the specific location?
  • Can other users at that location connect to eduroam?
  • What login credentials (but NOT the password !) are you using?
  • What device are you using?
  • What operating system are you using, including the version?

Note for students

If you are a student with an account from an educational institution other than Ghent University, first contact the helpdesk of your own university or college. Please include the response you received from your own educational institution in the ticket.

Your VM environment likely also uses a so-called Docker environment. In that case, you must ensure that the IP range of the Docker environment does not overlap with the eduroam IP range (172.17.0.0/16).

Adjust the IP range of the Docker environment so that there is no longer a conflict. Or ask your VM environment administrator to do this if you are not the administrator. The IT help desk cannot make changes to the VM environments.
